Silver Sheen Obsidian Palmstone
Silver Sheen Obsidian Palmstone
Like its golden counterpart, Silver Sheen Obsidian forms in much the same way with gas bubbles forming in the magma. This variety of Obsidian has a dark brown to black color, with sparkling silver inclusions reflecting over its surface. This shimmering effect is called chatoyancy. It is most visible when strong light hits the stone & reflects off the tiny gas bubbles trapped in the stone.
Obsidian is derived from the name Obsuis, a Roman explorer who was believed to have discovered the rock in Ethiopia. It is an extrusive rock, meaning it forms when lava comes out of a volcano & solidifies above the Earth's surface. It can form along the edges of a lava flow, a volcanic dome, or along a dike. It can also form when lava comes in contact with air or water.
The Aztecs used Obsidian as a material for scrying mirrors. Scrying involves gazing into a medium, hoping to receive significant messages or visions that could offer personal guidance, prophecy, revelation, or inspiration.
Silver Sheen Obsidian is known for its ability to absorb negativity from people, objects, & places.
In addition to driving away negative energies, Silver Sheen Obsidian assists with the removal of the mental clutter that prevents goal achievement. It may promote wisdom & patience to pursue objectives.
