Prophecy Stone
Prophecy Stone
Once thought to be Extra-Terrestrial in origin, similar to meteorites, Prophecy Stones are actually pseudomorphs, which means the original material has been replaced by another mineral over a long period of time. Prophecy Stones originally formed as solid crystal nodules of Marcasite, but altered into a completely separate & distinct Limonite material. The actual morphing process is similar to that which gradually replaces fossils with rock or mineral.
A pseudomorph is formed by a process of substitution, deposition, or alteration. For Prophecy Stones, it is a process of substitution. The outer appearance & dimensions remain the same but the original mineral is entirely replaced by another. Prophecy Stones begin as Marcasite and/or Pyrite & transform into a concretion of Hematite & Goethite (both referred to as “Limonite” minerals). Though the outer structure remains consistent in appearance, pseudomorphs rarely retain their internal crystalline structure & instead feature a granular or waxy internal structure.
No two prophecy stones are precisely the same but the overall form & uneven appearance of each specimen tends to be similar. They are typically dark reddish brown, but have also been found in paler tertiary colors. Depending upon the conditions of the environment in which they formed, some are more rounded, while some look sharper, pointier. They are virtually impossible to break.
Named by the man who discovered them in the White Desert of Egypt, he named them after experiencing a prophetic vision while meditating.
Prophecy Stones are high vibrational stones, which may help ‘see’ events to come. They are considered one of the best crystals for grounding light energy to the physical body. An ideal stone to use during meditation, Prophecy Stones may open new levels of awareness & may aid psychic development such as clairvoyance & lucid dreaming.
