Nephrite Jade Elephant
Jade is a mineral that is highly prized for its beauty & has been treasured for centuries around the world. It is actually composed of two distinct minerals: Jadeite & Nephrite. Both Jadeite & Nephrite are classified as silicate minerals, which means they are primarily composed of silicon & oxygen.
Jadeite, the more rare of the two, is a sodium & aluminum-rich pyroxene mineral, while Nephrite is a calcium & magnesium-rich amphibole mineral. Nephrite is usually found in shades of green, but it can also be white, grey, or black. Nephrite Jade is generally less translucent than Jadeite & has a softer & more fibrous texture.
Jadeite is primarily formed in subduction zones where tectonic plates converge. Subjected to high temperatures & pressures deep within the Earth’s crust, the minerals within them to undergo chemical changes. Nephrite is a product of the alteration of other minerals, particularly actinolite & tremolite, which are part of the amphibole mineral group. These minerals undergo recrystallization & transformation under intense pressure & temperature conditions, resulting in the formation of Nephrite.
Nephrite Jade may assist one to find inner peace & harmony. It is also known as a powerful stone for protection. It may help protect against accidents & injuries, as well as protect against negative energy & curses. Nephrite Jade is considered a stone of abundance & is said to promote wealth & prosperity.
