Dream Amethyst Point

Dream Amethyst have color ranges from very light lavender to deep purple & all contain Quartz banding in a variety of patterns. Some pieces possess inclusions of Smoky Quartz, which is why they are known as Dream Amethyst & not Chevron Amethyst, especially since that trademark chevron pattern is not as clearly evident.  But the sometime erratic patterning that is evident in most pieces is due to the same effect of color zoning as the Chevron Amethyst experiences.

Color zoning is due to temperature changes or the uneven incorporation of certain trace elements during the crystal's formation. The color varies from overly dark purple, dark purple, medium purple, light purple, & plain white quartz. A touch of smoky quartz may be present. The patterning displays the different episodes of growth & conditions within the Amethyst.
