Bumblebee jasper is the trade name for a colorful type of rock that forms only within Mount Papandayan in Indonesia. It forms as a precipitate within cavities of the surrounding limestone by hydrothermal activity.
Bumblebee Jasper is actually a complex conglomerate of minerals. Foremost among them is calcite, in which the coloring minerals grow & create the complex patterns that the stone is known for. The calcite formation in Bumblebee Jasper is a little bit different from the type found in geodes. The crystals form allowing various minerals to produce the magnificent bands, orbs, & patterns across the surface.
The stone was originally called Batu Badar Blerang, which translates into “Fumerole Jasper”. The founder of IndoAgate purchased some of the stone, renamed it Bumblebee Jasper and introduced it the global community.
Even though it is a relatively new discovery, Bumblebee Jasper is considered a stone of strength, courage, transformation, & opportunity. This black & yellow stone may offer inspiration & may enhance creativity & passion. It is said to be a powerful stone for manifestation.
